Low-cost health plans for small businesses.
The TexHealth Coalition provides new options to small businesses for affordable employee healthcare plans. Regional plans are available to business owners who employ 2 to 50 people and have not offered healthcare coverage to their employees for the past 6 to 12 months. These plans are subsidized in part, which helps lower costs. Through the TexHealth program, employees have access to health benefits typically beyond their reach.
To promote optimum health and cost-efficiency, the plans emphasize primary and preventative care, including diagnostic testing and medication to help manage chronic disease such as asthma and diabetes, while covering a range of other basic services — physician visits, hospitalization, specialty care, wellness and mental health.
